- Sketches are not signed, not titled and not dated. Sketch on the left in black wash depicts from behind the group of a standing man and a vulture, sketch on the right depicts the same group from the front. Dates are derived from the known evidences, such as Lipchitz's autobiography, saying when he was working on the sculpture.Judging by the page lining and paper quality sketches TGA 897/2/11-17 were originally drawn on sheets of the same school notebook.
