- Title
- Letter from Jane Merce to Jacques Lipchitz
- Date
- 4 August 1916
- Description
- Jane Merce writes from Piquey near Arcachon, on paper with the letterhead 'R. Digneau. Chambre a pension', which Lipchitz used himself earlier. She thanks Lipchitz for sending Mr Matisse to her as a tenant ('pensionner') and gives some news about her rooms and tenants. This letter can be a reply to the one, the draft of which is in the 'Blue Notebook', where Lipchitz recommends his friend Matisse to a house owner.
