- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, Firle, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant. Discusses beginning a still life, perhaps 'Flowers in a glass' (1935), and her dissatisfaction with the paintings she made in Rome. Also mentions Angelica and Clive Bell, 'the Commendatore', Frank (whom she suspects of robbing her), Henri Matisse's 'Port de Marseilles' (1917; bequeathed by Roger Fry to Bell), Pierre-Auguste Renoir's bust 'Head of Coco' (c. 1907-1908), and Virginia Woolf.
