- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Charleston, Firle, East Sussex, to Duncan Grant. Both continue to have problems with their paintings - Bell's portrait of Helen Anrep, which she is building up from drawings, and Grant's Pierrot subject. Dunnet and his men have located the source of the Charleston heating problem; Bell is planning for their forthcoming trip to Italy. Also mentions Angelica, Julian and Quentin Bell, Angus Davidson, Violet McNeil, and Matthew Smith.
